June 8 Meeting

As always, our monthly meeting was the first Monday in June - June 8. We're seeing more and more great Show and Tell modern quilts, and everyone loves it! Enjoy!
Donna: improv, asymmetrical; negative space
Donna: modern interpretation of a jelly roll quilt
Mary: Her own wonky block design; machine quilted on a domestic sewing machine
Betty: asymmetrical child's quilt
Karen: Quick Curve Ruler design inspired by a quilt seen on Pinterest
Karen: Quick Curve Ruler "Deco Shimmer"; big stitch quilted with perle cotton
Karen: Foundation paper-pieced Palm blocks
Bette, our Charity Quilt Chair, demonstrated how to put together Delectable Mountain blocks for our 2015 quilt.

She even showed how easy it can be to make a mistake!

Our program, given by Vice President Debbie, was a demonstration of how to use a regular-sized Fineline glue tip, and Elmer's School Glue, to glue-baste curves before machine piecing.

Members are reminded that we have several challenges in which to participate. Go here to review the opportunities and rules.
